Jimmy is an International flutist known for his musical sensitivity and fierce sound. He maintains a busy concert schedule, presenting recitals and giving master classes and workshops in Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. He has a passion for chamber music and is a founding members of the TeAo Ensemble in Berlin. His recent engagements include the world premiere of Zephyrus by James David, as guest flutist with the Prague International Music Festival Orchestra, chamber music tours in Czech Republic, a concert at Prague Music Museum, and performances in Brussels and Berlin. In high demand as a pedagogue, Jimmy is frequently invited to clinic the Sydney Eisteddfod flute competition and at various flute societies in Australasia.


Jimmy was a doctoral candidate in flute in Australia before moving to Berlin. He studied with Alexa Still at University of Colorado at Boulder (MM), with Anthony Ferner at the University of Canterbury (BM), and independently with Michael Hasel in Berlin. He has gained numerous competition successes, and was a prizewinner at the Sydney Eisteddfod Flute Competition. He was the recipient of the Aoraki Festival Award and the Peter Lees-Jeffries Memorial Scholarship.


During the Pandemic, Jimmy was appointed as President of a Berlin orchestra and choir which tripled in size under this direction, and worked closely with a non-governmental organisation to provide free music education to homeless children, refugees and migrants. Under the NGO, he created an outreach program and delivered music to school children, a scholarship program for talented young musicians in Berlin and abroad, and has raised a substantial amount of donations for the Turkish and Syrian earthquake victims for UNHCR, German Red Cross and the White Helmets Syria.


Jimmy also has a particular interest in ergonomic alterations to the flute and is a certified Straubinger and Schmidt gold pad technician. He plays a silver flute made for him by Brannen Brothers of Boston with gold and wooden headjoints by Sanford Drelinger of White Plains, New York.
